Introductory manners for your children

Introducing children to the idea of manners and etiquette using the biblical foundation of Proverbs and a coloring book to illustrate each concept while allowing the children to have fun and learn at the same time. The book is very practical, easy-to-read and easy-to-understand for the young reader. The book is foundational and basic - how to answer the phone, how to speak to an adult, how to act appropriately in church...things like that. Summaries at the end of the book and the back page of mine is a pull-out chart that can be easily hung in the home for children to read and review often.

Great for practical application.

I was raised in a highly dysfunctional home with rampant domestic violence. My home, as a child, was a house of fear and pain. I was not taught to respect or given any boundaries. When they did try to set boundaries, I crossed them, purposely. That said, when I became an adult, I became a Christian. My life and my children's lives are completely different from anything I knew as a child/teen. I have struggled greatly in the areas of teaching and learning respect, value, and so much more. I cannot tell you how invaluable Gregg Harris's books have been for me and my family. They have given me the vocabulary to say these things to my children and teach them lovingly, the things that I was never told or taught as a child. I don't have the lists posted around the house for everyone to rigidly follow, but we read the book and talk about what they mean and why we should behave this way, and why OUR family will behave this way... As for me and MY house we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15

It's not a training manual

I was appreciative of the price ( I think it cost around $5 after S&H) which allowed me to try it w/out much risk; however, I was expecting more of a lesson format. Most of the ideas shared here weren't new to us. And though it has a few neat charts it was nothing you couldn't research the Scripture for & produce on your own which may give your family/students more growth through the revelation they receive as they study & search for Scriptures which teach about the common courtesies that have become "uncommon," for themselves. All in all great if you don't have the time or desire, but better if you make the time & ask the Lord for the desire to seek out the principles He gives for gracious living. Again, I had hoped for actual lessons to use in a class setting with possibly Q&A, but it really has more of a "story" type prose kinda like a devotional.

A small guide for a great area: Egypt's Gilf Kebir

One of the few more recent sources of information on this remote part of Egypt and a must to have if you want to explore it. Lots of illustrations. A pocket guide means it is a bit smallish and that applies certainly for quite some of the many illustrations, including maps (and that is a pity).
The Gilf Kebir (Great Barrier) is a 300m high plateau rising almost impregnably from the desert in the remote southwest corner of Egypt, and southeast Libya. A white spot on the map up till about 100 years ago and still poorly known to date because of its remoteness.
The area is best known from the English Patient; a story stolen perhaps from the real early explorers who have left better stories themselves as also explained in this guide. The reference list is a good starting point to find them. Not easy as they are all from the first half of the 20th century or before (except for Bagnolds 'Libyan sands' that is available as an e-book). The Gilf Kebir is certainly off the beaten tourist track and its remoteness will keep it that way for quite some time. Pristine. I have traveled a lot in the deserts of Egypt. This booklet reminded me strongly about the real greatness of the desert and the regret I had of not being able to make it to the Gilf Kebir because 10 years ago it was still difficult to get there. It still is on my list of places to see, even more so after reading this guide.

Very good compilation of articles.

This book is a must have for everyone planning to or currently designing vlsi high performance circuits. Covers initials/reviews of mos transistors from mid-to-deep physics to simple components and then to further more complicated circuits. Interesting to mention that the authors compile a set of related articles published on highly respected journals. Cons are that many times those coverage are superficial, condensed to one page and leads you to deeper research on the original references. Pros are that you have, in only one place, a whole compilation of good articles in the area. I think this is the most interesting aspect of the book, because once you study the concepts covered, you have good knowledge to understand those articles. Overall, the book outperforms many other books, both in coverage and in the level of detail on each topic.

excellent book for fundamentals/reference

I used the first edition of this book in my graduate class. I found the book well-written with good examples and explanations. It also covers a diverse range of subjects and I still find myself referring to it when I have doubts. If you are having problems with understanding fundamentals, I highly recommend this book as a reference.

Bad printing quality, many typos

The printing quality is terrible. A low quality publication for such a high price. It is like the foreign edition, no color. There are streaks of white across most of the pages, which make the text and pictures difficult to read. The book appears to have been eaten badly by the printing machine, because every page has the same crease pattern.

Seems to be a decent text on digital MOSFET circuits. My professor spoke highly of it. However, there are MANY typographical errors. Ridiculous.
